Increased YG’s ticket sales by 67 percent in two weeks

Description: As the marketing strategy intern for Elixr Productions I helped increase ticket sales for rapper YG’s Eugene concert through social media tactics and flyers.

To increase ticket sales, I stood outside of similar concerts, including Ty$ and Childish Gambino. I handed out flyers that provided information on the show and how to purchase tickets. In addition, Elixr Productions occupied a booth at the University of Oregon’s EMU Amphitheater to promote the upcoming show and sell tickets.

Elixr Productions gave away three sets of two tickets to the show. In order to win tickets, social media followers had to retweet, post with a hashtag or share (depending on the outlet used) posts from Elixr Productions’ pages. A winner from each social media outlet was selected. In order to increase social media interactions for the contest I retweeted and shared Elixr Productions’ posts, as well as published separate posts about the contest on my Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Goal: Our goal was to sell out the YG concert by the start of the show.

Result: With these combined efforts of promoting YG’s show, ticket sales increased from 600 to 1,000 (sold out) before we opened the doors to the show.
